Cutting down our Christmas Tree

We cut our Christmas tree down the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and I have tried to post these pictures several times now. Peyton had such a good time riding on Daddy's back in the backpack. He thought he was so cool. We had a beautiful day to go and cut our tree down. We live about 1 mile from the Virginia border, so we went into Virginia to get our tree. It was the same farm we went to last year. They had so many beautiful trees to choose from and the best part was that they only cost $15.00. Nowhere I have ever lived have we ever been able to cut down a tree this beautiful for only $15.00. It was awesome. I do have to say that I missed trekking up the mountain side in Colorado to find the perfect "charlie brown" Christmas tree, then hauling it back to the truck just in time for some hot chocolate. Well, maybe I didn't miss it that much.

As soon as we set the tree up, Peyton decided that it was fun to play with. He won't leave it alone. He pulls off the needles, the lights, the ornaments. Oh well, at least he hasn't knocked it over....yet!

Peyton Learns how to blow a kiss

We have been teaching Peyton to blow kisses. It has been fun to watch him figure it all out. At first he would blow pretty good kisses, but now he has progressed to making noises with his kisses, and this is what he does now. Craig said he is going to have bruised lips because he does it so much! He is so just too cute! I have been having problems uploading videos and photos lately, but when I can get it to work, I will post new pictures and videos, so check back.

Peyton playing with Spartacus

Peyton has discovered that he can play with our cat Spartacus. Sparty loves this bell on a "fishing pole" thing with feathers and he really doesn't care who has it and as long as they play with him. Well, Peyton saw me playing with Spartacus and he wanted to do it too. He chases after Spartacus until he plays with Peyton. It is really funny. Peyton knows how to hold it and everything. Too funny.

Gotta push it

Peyton has started pushing everything around. His toys, his highchair, the coffee table (it has wheels), and his playpen, the office chair (sometimes with me in it! Basically everything he can. He gets really upset when he tries to move something and it is too hard. Craig says that the kid needs more cars and trucks to push around. I told him that it wouldn't matter. I think Peyton thinks it is cool to push something big around. He does push his walker around, although not while walking yet. He is such a busy boy. He just loves to get into everything. He keeps us busy, yet laughing all of the time. Enjoy these pictures.

Halloween 2007

Here is a slide show of some pictures that we took for Halloween. Craig and I really enjoyed taking Peyton out trick-or-treating in North Carolina. We first went along mainstreet with my friends and their kids. The temp at the bank said it was 72 degrees. Never in my entire life have I been trick-or-treating in weather that warm. It has always been snowing, raining, blowing, etc. This was nice. Even though Peyton really is too little to enjoy Halloween, we still had a great time. Enjoy our pictures!

Fall Pictures

On Saturday we went up to Galax, Virginia for a drive and to see all of the beautiful fall colors and we stopped at a National Park to take some pictures. We had a fun time playing on the swings, and just enjoying the beautiful weather that we had. Here are some of our favorite pictures.

Peyton loves to blow bubbles and wave!

I took this video a few days ago, and I thought it was so cute. Peyton loves to wave at us. He used to wave with his whole arm, but now he mostly waves using his fingers. It just makes us laugh when he does it. Hope you enjoy this video!

Another video of Peyton crawling

Peyton has been scooting on his belly backwards for about 2 months now. He could only go backwards and turn in circles, but finally this weekend, he learned how to go forward. He doesn't know how to lift his belly off, so he just does the army crawl. It uses a lot of energy, so he doesn't crawl for anything, but a bottle cap seems like it does the trick for now!

Peyton Crawling

Ha! Thanks Jess. I stole this idea from your blog. I would have thought that maybe Peyton would look more like his daddy by more than 4 %, but I guess this means there is a chance that he might take after me a little!

Dixie Classic Fair, in Winston-Salem, NC

We went to the Dixie Classic Fair this weekend in Winston-Salem. We had a really good time. Peyton got to see some goats, chickens, and birds, but his favorite part was seeing the tractor pull. Nothing like a good tractor pull. Actually this was a first for all of us. The tractors were loud and smelly, but sure were fun to watch. Peyton even waved to them as they went by! He loved it! Oh, and he even learned how to use a straw. I think his new favorite drink is Lemonade. We ate some corndogs that reminded me of the summer my brothers worked at similar fairs in Montana making the same corndogs. Ah, memories. Anyways, these are a few pictures from our day.

Too Cute!

Mmmm....Lemonade!

Peyton is drinking from a straw here!

Peyton is looking at his hand. He was waving bye, bye to the tractors!

So, I decided that it was time to give Peyton his first "official" hair cut. I had done some trimming, but nothing major. Peyton started to look a little shaggy, plus he kept pulling on the hair above his ears, so I figured it was time. I shaved the back with out too much problems, but when it came to doing the top and the front, well, lets say he is quite a wiggly little boy. I think it turned out nice. He looks like such a big boy now. He is kind of loosing his baby looks! Here are some pictures we took to document the occasion.
