4%

This is a picture of Craig and Peyton with Craig saying "4%". He really thinks that I faked the new pictures that I put up. I guess I shouldn't have done a new look-a-like. I think he really got his feelings hurt. Oh well. Like it matters anyways! This is still a cute picture though. Peyton is just getting so big so fast!

Lovato Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Roots - Free genealogy search

This is funny. I did one of these a while ago and it said that Peyton looked more like Craig by 4%, so Craig would hold Peyton up and put him cheek to cheek and say "4%". Well, I decided to do this again now that Peyton is older and I have repeated this 3 times and all 3 times Peyton has looked more like me by 4-8% more. It has drove Craig crazy. He swears that I rigged it! I have used different pictures each time and the results are always the same. I think it is funny. So funny that I decided it was worth posting on here.

Peyton blows some kisses and claps

Here is a video of Peyton. He learned how to clap his hands and blow kisses. He does this all of the time. He has to do them together. I guess it is just his show off routine. For some reason he has forgotten how to wave and I don't think we ever got him on camera...darn it. Taylor, Kylee, and Addie...this one is for you! We miss you!

Peyton just doing his chores

This is a cute video that I took a few weeks ago. Peyton loves to empty out the dishtowels out of the drawer and when he is done, he likes to clean the floor. This time, he was really going to town on the cleaning. I thought it was really cute

New Baby Nephew Zachary Dustin Gray

I also meant to post these earlier. We have a new nephew. My brother Dustin and his wife Jen, had a baby boy on January 17th. Zachary Dustin Gray was 8 lbs 7 oz and 21 inches long. Isn't he so cute. I wish we lived closer to them. They live in Lehi, Utah, which is a ways away from North Carolina. I really want to hold this little guy!

One happy family. Dustin, Zachary (after his first bath), and Jen

One week old

Cute!!

My parents, Grandma and Grandpa Gray with 1 week old Zachary. He looks so tiny! Peyton was just about the same size as Zachary, but it still seems crazy that he was once as little as Zach.

Peyton's First Sledding Experience

SNOW!!!

I meant to post this earlier, but I am still trying to get caught up. I guess I have just been really busy or something. We finally got our first real snowstorm back on January 17th. I was so excited that I went down in the basement and drug out a snow tube. (I don't even know why I brought it to North Carolina...but I am glad I did). I blew it up, hooked a rope on it and bundled Peyton up. He really didn't know what to think about it, but I think he had fun. We have a perfect sledding hill in our backyard. It is the perfect slope. The only problem is the really pokie bushes and the ditch at the bottom. I pulled Peyton down by himself the first time, then we both went down. It was a lot of fun. Hopefully we will get some more snow soon. I really do miss it!

A Tribute to President Gordan B. Hinckley

This is a really touching video that my cousin Kelly posted on her blog regarding the passing of President Gordan B. Hinckley. President Hinckley was the president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which is the church that Craig and I attend. He passed away on Sunday and his funeral is today. President Hinckley really was the first prophet that I really remember much about. He was such a sweet man. I actually got to attend a devotional that he spoke at while attending Rick's College (now BYU Idaho) back in 98. He and his wife spoke and I still remember the sweet spirit that was in that conferance hall that day. It truely was a moving day for me. After that devotional my roommates and I ran down to the back of the building where we knew President Hinckley would be coming out of to get into his car and we were able to see him and his wife. He truely was a devoted and faithful servant to the Lord and I will miss him. I do know that he is with his loving wife Marjorie who passed away in 2004 and I know that he missed her dearly, so I am really happy that they have been reunited. But I still will miss him. He was 97 years old, so I know he led a full life.

Craig has set up out TV to record the funeral, but I am not ready to watch it yet. I know that I will cry and cry and cry, and I have to be prepared for that, so maybe later on tonight or even tomorrow I will watch it. I, like my cousin Kelly, have been disappointed by the lack of media coverage that has been on the TV. It seems like more stories about Brittney Spears are on, but not much about this wonderful man and the life that he led and the things he accomplished. Enjoy this tribute to Gordan B Hinckley.

Peyton's First Birthday Party January 12, 2008

I realize that I am a bit slow but...here are some pictures of Peyton's birthday party back in January. His birthday is January 13th, but we had the party on the 12th. We had such a nice party for him. I made a ton of food, and made a cake for Peyton and another for everyone else. Craig tested out his cake decorating skills and made an Elmo cake for Peyton and a larger Elmo cake for everyone else. I was bummed that I didn't take a picture of the big cake before I cut into it. Just spaced it out, but here is what it looked like anyways. Oh, and we made homemade rootbeer. Craig had to drive to Winston-Salem 45 minutes away (oneway) to get dry ice. What kind of dinky town is this Mayberry that we live in anyways! The kids loved the dry ice in the rootbeer and it tasted really yummy. We made some homemade ice cream so we had rootbeer floats. It was a blast. Peyton really got "into" his cake and made a complete mess. He had to have a quick bath when he was done. After the party, I took one look at his highchair and thought it was ruined, but amazingly enough all of the red and black dye came out and it looks good as new. I still can't believe that my "baby" is one. I still love to rock him to sleep at night. It is the only time really that he holds still and snuggles with me. Don't get me wrong, he is definetly a momma's boy, but he usually is holding on to my leg or wants to be carried around. I think he is about 30 pounds so that is quite a workout. Craig and I are enjoying the time we have to spend with Peyton and really feel our love for him grow even more everyday. Well, enough of the mushy stuff, on to the pictures!

Here is the cake that we made for everyone. I really am bummed that I didn't get a picture of this cake before cutting into it. Maybe one of our guests did!

Craig decorated Peyton's cake like Elmo. I think it turned out really cute!

Here is Peyton with his buddy Joseph. Peyton looks so tough!

Mmmm...now what do I do with this?

Eat it, smash it, smear it, or whatever! It didn't take him long to figure this out!
I gave him a fork thinking that he could be a little bit cleaner if he used it. This just created one more thing to clean up. Peyton loves to smear his food on his head, behind his ear, and his favorite place to store his favorite foods for later is down on the side of his highchair.

We gave him some icecream as well. He really didn't know what to do with it, so he just smeared it around.

Look mom! I made a mess, and I liked it!

Maybe there are still a few clean spots...so much for his bib!
We are off to the bathtub. Craig made the frosting with butter, so Peyton was really greasy and hard to hold onto! Made a mess of the bathtub! Notice the huge blob of frosting on his diaper!
All cleaned up and ready to open presents! I love this shirt! Josh and Joe McGowan gave it to Peyton!
Whoops! A sideways view of Peyton's highchair. You can totally tell where he was sitting because it is the only parts that are still clean.
