Greensboro Science and Nature Center

So I have a new favorite museum. I have discovered this museum with my sister today and it was awesome. Half of it was like a Zoo with animals (tigers, lemurs, monkeys, turtles etc), and the rest was a regular museum. It had lots of hands on stuff, and was tons of fun. The best part was the cost. FREE!!! I was able to use our membership to our science museum to get us in for free. The only downfall is that it is about 1 hour away and Jackson HATES the car, so we had lots of screaming on the way down!

Peyton, Sarah, and Jackson at the aquarium part of the museum.

this was a really neat water table that Peyton loved to play in.
This is sonic the hedgehog. He actually wasn't that pokie to pet.

Peyton loved this bear in the entrance

And of course this dinosaur

This turtle was out walking around and was chewing on my sister's shoe lace. I got a video of it. It was pretty funny.

Uncle Nick

My brother-in-law Nick was only able to stay 1 week, while my sister was able to stay 2 weeks. Peyton was so sad to see his buddy leave. Nick was so awesome, playing with Peyton, offering to hold Jackson, and change diapers.

Sarah has a wonderful man, and I know that you guys will make excellent parents some day!

Jackson's baby blessing

Today was Jackson's baby blessing. We had wanted to have his baby blessing when my parents were out visiting us, but it ended up being Stake Conference, so we opted to wait until Sarah and Nick were able to be here. It was a good thing they came when they did, because Jackson's baby blessing outfit was a 3-6 month outfit and it barely fit him.

Craig gave him a very sweet blessing and Jackson didn't even make a peep. It was a wonderful day.

I like this picture the best.

Peyton loves his little brother and has to be near him all the time.

Jackson all decked out and looking handsome for his baby blessing.

A little bit of love can go a long way.

I am so grateful to have a husband that honors his priesthood so that he can bless our children in the church. I am also thankful that Nick and Sarah were able to come all the way from Idaho to be able to attend Jackson's blessing.
We decided to start a new family tradition on baby blessing day and make homemade root beer. Notice how everyone is still in church clothes. They couldn't wait to make the root beer!

Sciworks and Goobers

This picture should have been in the previous post, but here it is anyways. I thought Jackson looked so grown up in this outfit.

Today we took Nick and Sarah to our favorite little museum. Afterwards, once Craig got home for work we headed over to our favorite local restaurant Goobers. Yummy. We actually know the owner pretty well now. (mostly because of Craig and the bakery). Whenever anyone comes to visit we go to Goobers. It is such a fun place to eat and the food is really yummy.

And this van is too cool.
Peyton had such an awesome time with his aunt and uncle.

Mabry Mill

My sister Sarah and my brother-in-law were able to come and visit us. The first thing that we did is drive to Virginia (we live a short 1 mile to the Virginia state line) to go to Mabry mill. My friend had told me about it and couldn't believe that we hadn't been up there yet. I think it is only about 30 minutes away, but because Jackson HATES the car, we ended up having to stop about half way so that I could feed him and calm him down. We actually were able to stop at a neat little cabin on the side of the road and Peyton, Sarah and Nick were able to run around while I fed the baby. It worked fine.
Anyways, Mabry mill is on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a very famous road. The Mabry Mill is the most photographed thing on the parkway. The mill isn't in operation anymore, but at one time it was used as a saw mill, that was powered by a water wheel. It was really pretty and neat to tour.
Here are Nick and Sarah. (Sarah got her hair cut really short, and I loved it!)

Peyton had fun with Uncle Nick. They were putting leaves in the stream and watching them go down the track.

They had tons of old equipment that they used at the mill. Most of them had signs that told how they were used. It was quite interesting. Peyton loved this wagon.

2 months old!

Where has the time gone? It is amazing to me that Jackson is already 2 months old. Sometimes it feels like he has always been a part of our family, and other times I am still getting used to him being around. I finally feel like I have adjusted to having 2 children and I think that I can do this. Maybe.

Sweet Jackson.

He still hates the bright light on the front of my camera. It makes his eyes buggy everytime.

Jackson and Peyton. I swear I don't intentionally dress them in coordinating colors. It just happens that way sometimes.

I see fish.

Jackson couldn't take his eyes off his favorite new thing today. He loved this bright colored fish.
