Our trip to Colorado and Jackson's first airplane ride

Here we are on our summer vacation to Colorado. Craig and I and both kids ventured out to Colorado. Peyton is quite a seasoned flyer with 4 trips already under his belt, but this is the first time we have had to pay for him now that he is 2. He does pretty well in the airplane, but like all kids, he has a hard time staying in his seat and needs lots of activities and snacks. He didn't sleep at all during the flight, but right as soon as we landed, he laid his head on Craig's lap for a quick nap. Jackson also did well on the trip. I had to feed him quite a bit especially during takeoff and landing and he took a nice nap during the flight. It was nice to have the help of Craig for the flight to Colorado, unfortunately I flew solo on the way home (minus Craig). Actually both boys did well both flights and I ended up having a 12 year old boy sitting next to me on my return flight that didn't seem bothered by us. I am sure he was weirded out by me nursing Jackson, but oh well. I have a coverup so I am sure he just wasn't sure what I was doing more than anything.

Peyton loved looking out the window.

A bad self portrait, but here I am!

Lazy Five Ranch

Today we went to the Lazy 5 Ranch that is near Charlotte. Let's just say that the high for the day was going to be 97 and humid. Maybe not the best day to be outside, but we got here at 9:00 and we were gone by 11:30 so not as bad.

This was another playgroup adventure. We reserved and entire wagon and got to ride around and feed the animals. It was so nice to have everyone on the same wagon. During the ride, I had to feed Jackson because of the 1 1/2 hour drive to get here, so while we were bumping down the dirt path, I was nursing Jackson (let me just say, I was dripping in sweat too!) It was nice that my friends could help Peyton while I was feeding Jackson.

Each one of the kids had a bucket of grain and the driver told us which animals would eat out of our hands and which ones we should throw the grain on the ground for and which would eat out of the bucket. Basically, the birds would eat out of the bucket (emu and ostrich) because their pecks would hurt your hands. The big animals would also eat out of the bucket (yak, giraffe) The deer, goats, sheep and antelope would all eat out of your hand. You had to be careful because the animals would try to steal things off of the wagon, like purses and bags and if you left you bucket on the bench, they would take it! It was funny. They also had water buffalo which you could drop food into their mouths. They had a rhino, but it didn't eat grain, but we could get real close to its enclosure.

Here we are on the wagon. Jackson had just finished eating and was looking very content!

The giraffe we were feeding. This is not zoomed in. We were this close!

Here is my friend Shanna holding Peyton up so he could feed the giraffe. I don't think Peyton really knew what to think about the giraffe.

Isaac, Peyton, and Genevieve.
On the way home we stopped off at chick-fil-a for lunch and Peyton got this cute hat.

3 months old!

Peyton and Jackson

Jackson's month by month shot.

Jackson is a really smily baby, but not so much for the camera today. Hmm...

Just for the record, Jackson has been sleeping through the night for about a month now. I am hoping that he keeps that up, because I am loving it! He is nursing consistently through the day, and doesn't want to be bothered with a bottle or pacifier. Guess you could say "he's a boob man!"

Daddy's boys

Ha! Jackson still gets a little bit scared of the flash.

Peyton is constantly touching Jackson. Jackson is going to grow up to be one tough kid!

One Happy Baby!

I love being with this kid all day long. He is so happy to please. You know feed him every 2 hours, and then hold him, hold him, and hold him.

I like to Move-it, move-it, I like to MOOVE IT!!!

Have you seen the Madagascar movies? Well, both of the movies are Peyton's absolute favorite. He loves it when they sing the move-it move-it song and now Peyton will burst out in a song and dance at any given moment. In the car, during church, at Walmart, all day long. I finally got him on video doing his little song and dance. I love how Jackson smiled at Peyton while he was performing. Jackson is so entertained by Peyton, but then again, who isn't?!

We like to Move-it, do you?

Another video of Peyton Move-in it!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

This is the longest version of Twinkle Twinkle ever, but oh, so cute!
At the end of it he says "No more" I kept videoing him to try to get the perfect video. What a good sport he is.

Peyton and Jackson before church today. I love sweater vests on little boys. I think they are adorable.

Jackson is getting so big already.

Winston Salem Childrens Museum

Our children's playgroup all got together and went to the Winston-Salem Children's Museum. We hadn't been there so it was a lot of fun exploring everything. It was a really rainy day, so it was a little crowed, but still fun.

Random pictures around the museum. Most of these pictures were taken in the storybook room. The entire room had books everywhere that pertained to the things the kids were playing with. 3 little bears (had a little house with 3 beds and 3 chairs, etc), the billy goats gruff, had a bridge and stuffed goats and the troll, etc. It was really cute.

Peyton LOVED this part of the museum. I think we spent at least 30 minutes here. Winston-Salem is home to the original Krispie Kreme Donut so because of this, they have an entire room dedicated to Krispie Kreme. They have little plastic donuts that the kids get to "make". They put on an apron and a hat (which Peyton wouldn't take off, so we took the hat home. I think it was ok!) Anyways the donuts went up a conveyor belt, then dropped down a chute onto a tray. Then a kid would take the tray and dump the donuts onto a little conveyor belt, which would in turn drop them onto another conveyor belt, and then they would go up again and then drop out the end where someone would be holding a tray. Peyton loved running the middle conveyor belt (all the belts were ran by turning a big wheel) and would push kids away when they wanted a turn. He really isn't great at sharing. It was cute to watch him be so excited about how this worked.

They even had a grocery store complete with little black aprons. (Notice Peyton still has his hat on. I guess he is working his 2nd job and forgot to completely change uniforms). Peyton enjoyed working in the Deli in this store and then going shopping for food. Not so much fun putting it all back though!

Purple hair.

I got this purple wig for a Halloween costume several years ago and sometimes we get it out for a chuckle. Well, tonight we got it out and had fun trying it on.

My sister Sarah.

I think Peyton looks adorable. Maybe one day I will have an adorable girl that looks like this?

We think Craig looks like either a Monty Python character or one of the beetles.
Me, I think it is a good look, what do you think?
Peyton was telling me that I look beautiful and pretty.

Our cat spartacus was even game.

Getting some brotherly love.

I can't belive how big Jackson is getting already. Growing like a weed!

Everytime I get the camera out to get a picture of Jackson, Peyton jumps in. He loves his brother and Jackson loves being around him. Peyton is really the only one that gets Jackson to laugh. Jackson just looks at Peyton and starts to laugh. I think they must have been buddies in heaven and Jackson remembers that. They sure do love eachother.
