A playmate for Peyton

We watched my friend's little boy, Joseph, last night and Peyton had a blast. It was so nice for Peyton to have someone to play with. Peyton has such a limited attention span, that he is constantly moving and playing with so many things, that it is hard to keep him occupied sometimes. With Joseph here, they played for about an hour on the porch. (We had a ton of rain right before Joseph came over so the grass was wet) Usually Peyton plays on the porch for about 5 minutes before moving onto something else. It was nice to just sit and watch them play. They play so well together.

It was a good thing that we have several big trucks to play with, or we would have had a cryfest. Peyton doesn't share real well. Probably because he doesn't have to!

The funny thing is Peyton really hasn't rocked on his dog rocker much, but Joseph liked it, so of course he wanted to play on it too.

They had fun with the bubbles.

They shared real well, up until they were both tired.
Later when we all went inside, Peyton and Joseph were trying to share Peyton's Elmo chair. Joseph sat in it for a while, then Peyton sat in it. Well, Joseph noticed and said "No Fair!" It was so cute. It made Craig and I crack up. Can you tell that Joseph has 2 older sisters!

Future piano players?

Too cute!

Do as I'm Doing...

Follow, Follow, Me

Peyton loves to get out my pots and pans and pretend to cook. He wanted a water bottle filled with water, which I know usually ends up on the floor, only today he wanted the water in the pot, so that he could stir it!

He played and played like this, until I look down at him and he is "drinking" the water, which is actually just running down his shirt!

Just right for a little dip in the pool

I figured that it was time to fill up Peyton's little pool with water. I filled it while he was taking his nap and by the time he woke up, it was nice and warm. I put the slide in it and he went down it twice. Not sure if he liked that or not.

He loves to drink the water out of the bathtub or pool. I try to get him to stop, but he seems happy doing it. Oh well.
He played in the pool for a while, then he wanted a little change of pace, so he started putting dirt into the pool. Good thing it was just a little pool that is easy to clean. He had a pretty good mud bath there.

Beep, beep

We have a musical doorbell, and Peyton discovered that if he climbed up on the chair he could reach the button, which he calls beep, beep, and it would ring the doorbell. I always have to laugh though because everytime he rings it our cats go running for cover, because they think some stranger is at the door.

New sand box

Craig surprised me and Peyton with this new Turtle sandbox and little plastic pool. Peyton was so excited.

We put it on our porch, so that we wouldn't kill our grass. It fits perfect.

He loves playing with it.

So far, I haven't filled the pool up yet. Peyton has fun filling it up with sand though.

The best yard sale find ever!

Sometimes I stop at yardsales, but I haven't really done that in a while and today, while I was out running errands (while Craig was home watching Peyton), I drove past a yard sale and I slowed down and saw this bike for Peyton. I have been wanting something for Peyton to play on outside for a while, so this was perfect. Well, I get out of the car and I hear "Where's Peyton?" It was the daycare lady, as I call her, Dana, who watches Peyton for me at the gym. It was her yard sale. I asked her how much she wanted for the bike and she said that she had wanted $10.00 for it, but since it was for Peyton, then she would take $5.00 for it. Score!!! I was so excited.

Peyton loved it. He doesn't know how to use the peddles yet.

But he is real good at pushing himself along with his feet.

He also likes giving his bike a push!

And the occaisonal help from Dad, but not to much. He is independent you know.

Cubscout Den Meeting

Craig had arranged to play badmitton for cubscouts this week, but only 1 boy and his little sister showed up, so that meant that Peyton could play too. Peyton and I don't usually go to Den Meetings with him, but since I am Primary President, that means that I am also the commitee chairman for the cubscouts, so I have to attend planning meetings and Pack meetings, so here we are.

Peyton loves playing with all the big kids. I really think that he thinks that he is just as big as them.

He actually is getting pretty good at trying to hit the birdie. Maybe we will have a badmitton pro on our hands!

Peyton found a pinecone to carry around.

Such a boy

This child loves to play in dirt, mud, and anything else that is messy. I think we are going to get him a sandbox to play in. He really is hard on the landscaping. (Not that there is much)

He loves to pick up dirt clumps and break them apart. Or collect rocks and sticks.

It still surprises me that he still "tastes" the dirt.

This is the face he gave me when I told him to spit out the dirt. He was actually saying "No!"

Mr. Indepedent

Peyton has really become indepedent...or so he thinks! He insists on feeding himself his yogurt, applesauce, etc, himself. Not only does he want his spoon, but he wants a regular spoon as well. I am not sure exactly how much of his food actually gets to his mouth, but at least he is eating it!

Peyton loves to feed the cats. He is pretty good at hitting the dish.

For the most part. Now we just have to work on portion control. He is so funny though. See all the bits of catfood outside the dish? He will walk by throughout the day and pick up the pieces that that cats spill out. Ah, just like his Momma.

White Pacie or Blue Pacie

White Pacie...Blue Pacie...Two Pacies...Oh no!

White Pacie?...or...

Blue Pacie...too many choices.

Maybe both pacies!

Hmm... Peyton's very best friend is his pacifier. He really doesn't care what color it is as long as he has one. He has now even tried to put 2 pacifiers in his mouth. Nothing wrong with that. I am pretty sure that 2 are always better than 1.

Peyton and Spartacus.

Peyton loves Spartacus. This is the most easy going cat ever. He will let Peyton give him loves, by giving him kisses, hugs, and lots of pets. Peyton loves to pull his tail and Spartacus just takes it. Sometimes he will bat at him with his front paws, but he is declawed so it is just for play. He is such a good cat.

Silly boy

Petyon loves to go into our closet and get all of Craig's ties (or at least as many as he can reach) and wear them. He wraps them around his neck and struts around the house. It is so cute to watch him mimic us. He also loves to carry my purse around, but Craig gets mad that I let him do that.

Peyton loves bread

Craig left this loaf of bread on the table and Peyton grabbed it and started to gnaw on it. He carried that thing everywhere and ate quite a bit of it. It was really cute.

Yummy!

Sure is nice to have a dad that makes such yummy bread.
